# Workspace admin skills

> Platform skills for workspace setup, skill authoring, templates, contacts, and chat home customization.

<Note>
  **For workspace administrators and power users.** New to Surfaice? Start with [What is Surfaice?](/concepts/what-is-surfaice) and [Workspaces](/guides/workspaces).
</Note>

These skills help you configure how **Hugo** (the in-app agent) behaves for your organization. They appear in the Skills panel under **Catalog** or **Company-wide**, depending on what Surfaice provisioned for your workspace.

## Authoring & customization

## Sites & reports

| Skill                    | What it does                                             |

## Document utilities

Available across workspaces for file operations:

| Skill            | Formats                             |
| ---------------- | ----------------------------------- |
| `generate-pdf` | PDF merge, split, OCR, form fill |
| `generate-excel` | `.xlsx` / `.csv` creation and edits |

| `generate-pptx`  | PowerPoint decks                    |

## Skill scopes (admin reference)

When Surfaice sets up a customer workspace, it maps an organization template to a built-in skill catalog. Admins can:

* Install additional platform catalog skills into the workspace
* Publish company-wide skills for everyone in the organization
* Let users author workspace-only skills

End users see four scopes in the Skills panel: **Built-in**, **Company-wide**, **Workspace**, **Catalog**.

## Who should use these

| Skill                | Typical user                                    |
