# Workspaces

> How Surfaice workspaces organize users, skills, connectors, and durable knowledge for a customer.

A **workspace** is your company's Surfaice environment: users, roles, connectors, skills, saved work, and audit history for that customer.

## What lives in a workspace

* Account and role assignments
* Connector configurations your IT team approved
* Skills and instructions tuned for your workflows
* Items users explicitly save (for example a reviewed lease abstract)
* Audit and agent-run logs

## What does not live in a workspace by default

Surfaice is not a new system of record. It does not keep a bulk mirror of your mailboxes, SharePoint libraries, or lease admin databases. Context for a task is assembled at run time from systems you already own, under your existing permissions.

## Switching and access

Most users belong to a single customer workspace. If you cannot see expected projects or connectors, your role or connector entitlements may be limited — contact your Surfaice admin.
